At Lapse, we believe your screen contents are your own business. That's why Lapse is built to run 100% offline.

1. No Cloud Storage

Lapse does not upload any screenshots, frames, or compiled videos to the cloud. All captured frames are stored temporarily in your local system directory during the recording session, and are fully compiled locally into a video file of your choice.

2. Local Cache Cleanup

When a recording session finishes or you close the app, all temporary screenshots captured during that session are immediately deleted from your system's temp directories. Only your finalized, compiled output file remains on your disk.

3. License Key Verification

The only network request Lapse makes is when validating your purchased license key or check for application updates. This request contains only the license key itself and basic operating system info (to confirm limits) over a secure HTTPS connection.

4. Third-Party Integrations

Lapse uses Resend for transactional emails (such as license deliveries) and Gumroad/AppSumo for handling payments. These processors operate under their own strict privacy policies, and no screen capture data is ever shared with them.
